Games one and two

Well my time has come to an end here in Scottdale, AZ. Flying back on Tues. March 1. It was a fun trip. I think I worked 14 days straight. Her are some photos from game one and two. This is a nice stadium but the photo wells are too far out down the line past first base. The dugouts are huge here. It's nice you can move around and shoot from the upper level without being harassed by ushers. The people and staff at the stadium are nice. I wish I was coming back later this spring to catch a game from the outfield berm. Oh well, just have to wait for opening day April 1. See ya when I get back.

Game Day

The Rockies take on the DiamondBacks today in their opener. The forecast for today is overcast and possible rain later in the day. Rain on Sunday as well, but the Rockies have a day off and plan on playing an inner squad game. Monday will be our last day here in Scottsdale. Can't wait to get home.

Rockies

Well another stellar day for sunshine with the temps in the mid to high 60's. I'm glad because come Saturday and Sunday the cold creeps in according to the weather reports. Today was the start of full squad workouts for the Rockies. The did a bunch of fundamental drills today. Pitchers threw live BP. It's all about getting the timing down not only with the pitchers but the hitters as well. Watched Ubaldo pitch from behind the batting cage, it's amazing the control he has with his pitches. Pretty cool to be that close to the action and actually see the pitches come in. There were quite a few fans wondering around today. It can be tough getting around especially with all the security around the complex. Saw a big rat today walking out to the back field where the team goes. Wow, he was huge. There were some crows swooping down trying to catch it. No luck, he ducked in a hole. Lunch will have to wait for those birds. Well the day ended with some of the position players playing catch with a football, compliments of Ryan Spilborghs. They looked like little kids out there throwing it around. The seem to be real loose and enjoying themselves. Helton actually threw a pass to Fowler, it was a zinger. Fowler missed it. But all in all they seamed to be coming together as a group. Tracy was watching them and he was getting a kick out of it. Throw of the day had to be Jonathan Herrera, or should i say the duck throw of the day. Spilly threw the ball to him and Herrera dropped his bags and attempted a throw back, looked like a wounded bird flipping through the air. It was funny. Well tomorrow is a crazy day with media day. I have to be set up with my lights by 6a.m. The players start coming through one-by-one to have their photos taken by all different organizations. From mug shots to real elaborate set ups. I like shooting media day, it give me the opportunity to talk with the players one-on-one and try to get them to feel comfortable with me. Should be fun. That's if for now, going to head across the street for something to eat.

Dinner

Well, just looking for somewhere to go for dinner. Don't know if I want to do Mexican tonight or American. Most likely head out to get some Mexican food. We ate at a place called Macayos, really good maybe go there tonight. Looking out the window to a really nice sunset. I need to get out in the evening and find a spot to shoot some of these awesome sunsets. The sky is a vibrant orange and blue now. Went across the street to this place called Uncle Sam's and had a pitcher of beer while they cleaned our room. They were late cleaning the room today. Oh well. Wanted to go out and sit by the pool but by the time I get done transmitting, the sun starts to go behind the hotel. Heading out to dinner now and then a sports bar after. Maybe try to catch some of the Nuggets game.
